Entry 3

Editing has become a major venture for this project.  After using automation on the vocals, I decided to automate the instruments so that they would be softer during the verse and louder during the chorus.  This seemed to create a better balance, but the trick for me is trying to make it sound less choppy and sudden.

For the video, I have decided to do a pastiche of different clips from freshman year up until now as I go into my senior year.  The song is about memories, and I think that this type of format will mesh well with the intentions of the song.

Recording the song was interesting.  I used my own Apogee condenser mic in the Madstop Records studio space.  I started by constructing the accompaniment tracks;  I played the piano and converted it into a MIDI track, then used digital audio for the guitar and drums. For the vocals, I did several takes to ensure note accuracy and synchronization with the accompaniment.  I may or may not get rid of some of the takes due to my preference for certain ornamentations/riffs.
